The full spec sheet has yet to be released, but using the 2022 model as a reference, we expect great power, competitive MPGs, and a satisfying drive from the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander.
In particular, the currently-available new Mitsubishi Outlander SUV drives on with a smooth CVT transmission and a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, making 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) is available, adding innovative enhancements like Active Yaw Control (AYC) that intelligently manage power and braking force distribution to realize precision handling that'll inspire confidence through any weather or road conditions.
The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander should build on all this while offering equally-attractive MPGs. We do know, however, that the official 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander MPG ratings are an EPA-estimated 2WD fuel economy of 24/31 MPG (city/highway).1
As for towing, the 2022 Outlander could tow up to 2,000 pounds2 when properly equipped, and we expect the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander towing capacity to stay at this same superbly-practical rating.
Like the Mitsubishi Outlander towing capacity, we don't have an official look at the 2023 Outlander interior features and benefits. Still, we expect the competitive perks of its 2022 model to remain or improve.
Among those perks, the Outlander offers drivers awesome tech features like an available 12.3-inch fully-digital gauge cluster, a 10.8-inch jet-style head-up display, a 10-speaker Bose® premium sound system, a 9-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay®, a wireless smartphone charger, three-zone auto climate control, a power-operated panoramic sunroof, a multi-view camera system, a leather-trimmed heated eight-way power driver's seat with memory, and much more.
We expect the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander to build on all this while still offering desirable standard features like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, dual-zone auto climate control, a 7-inch gauge cluster multi-info display, and an 8-inch infotainment display.
You'll be able to fit seven occupants in this new three-row SUV. You'll enjoy confidence, too, as they'll be protected by safety features like available adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous MI-PILOT Assist capabilities. A standard blind-spot monitor with lane-change assistance. Forward collision mitigation. Automatic emergency braking, and many more.
The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander will be a spacious and confident ride. We expect 125.5 cubic feet of passenger volume, 79.7 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume, and roomy measurements like 41.7-inches of front and 39.9-inches of second-row legroom.

An official list of 2022 vs. 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander details has not been released, but we believe that this new model year will bring new tech features and enhanced value all around. The plug-in hybrid model of the Outlander SUV will be all-new for 2023, and while still unconfirmed, we think this lineup change should add some new details to the gas-powered Outlander SUV.
Eco mode is a driving mode in every Mitsubishi Outlander that prioritizes fuel efficiency and smoothness over high-performance driving. It comes standard with every new Mitsubishi Outlander alongside Tarmac, Gravel, Snow, and Normal mode, letting you dial in your driving preferences and enhance your Outlander SUV's on-pavement acceleration, slippery-terrain traction, or fuel efficiency. Normal mode will be a balance of traction, power, and efficiency.
